Aside from causing the loss of infrastructure and property, the value of which amounting to billions Rupiah, the floods have also left diseases due to bad sanitation during staying in shelter.
Most of the victims have returned to their homes and some others are still staying in the tents, and ‘balai desa’(=a kind of hall), without water supply. Skin disease and infection in respiratory system have started to spread particularly to the children and old people.
Telkom, through Community Development Area of Central Java and DIY, has responded to this condition by giving aid to lighten their suffering by the program of Environment Establishment.
The aid directly delivered by Asiani Garmini, representing CD Area 4 Manager, to each of the representatives of Desa Banjarsari and Kosekan, Kecamatan Gabus Kabupaten Pati and DesaSokokidul, Kecamatan Kebonagung Kabupaten Demak that is symbolically received by Ir. Edi Margoyono. The aid is in the form of‘sembako’ (=basic supplies) package with the value at ten millions rupiah. ”This aid is the realization of TELKOM care to the environment to lighten the burden caused by the floods”, said Asiani.
On that occasion, Asiani requested all Heads of Desa and its Organization to socialize to the community to always use Telkom products such as fixed line, Flexi and Speedy, as undoubtedly proved that Telkom has duly cared to the community.
Head of Desa Banjarsari, Ir. Edi Margiyono, representing the other two Heads of Desa and the community receiving the aid from Telkom, expressed his gratitude to Telkom for its attention to the community although the location being at isolated and remote area. “This aid will be utilized properly for the people suffering,” said Edi. “We will also forward Telkom’s message that the people also support Telkom by using Telkom’s Products ,” he added.
