Bangka Belitung, March 24, 2008 – The Indonesian Minister of Government Apparatus Empowerment, Taufik Effendi, officialy opens Tuatunu Great Mosque in Pangkalpinang together with the Holy Prophet Birthday Celebration. This mosque is also dedicated as the first digitalized mosque in Bangka Belitung Province. Also attended the ceremony, General Manager Deputy of Southern Sumatera Telkom Area Office, Binuri and General Manager of Bangka Belitung Telkom Branch Office, M Ma’rufin.

The Governor of Bangka Belitung, Eko Maulana Ali on his speech said that he was so proud and thankful for all of the people who has supported the process of Tua Tunu Mosque construction. According to Eko, the goverment of Bangka Belitung will build Bangka Belitung University, STAI and Pangkalpinang City Goverment Office as soon as possible. Of course, the development of Pangkalpinang also needs service support from PT Telkom, especially on spreading internet access by digital village building.

At the same time, the mayor declares “Cyber Mosque Generation Club” as the first step digital technology diffusion into Islamic student communities, Islamic education institution and Bangka Belitung native society. TELKOM also gives hotspot access, Speedy access, notebooks, LCD projectors, UPS and internet training program.
