CSR TelkomGroup to Enhance Students’ Potential by CO-Op
Bandung, July 9, 2012, “We are not always able to build the future for young genertaion, but we are able to build young generation for the future” said SGM-HC Center, Pandji Darmawan, in his speech to 340 students of Co-Op and all heads of prominent universities in Bandung and all HR organizers of members and Foundation of Telkom, on Monday (9/7), with a theme ‘Optimizing Co-op benefit to Enhancing competitive Advantage for corporate and other Stakeholder’.
Pandji then said that this CO-Op program was a realization of Telkom’s Coorporate Social Responsibility (CSR) policy to education, in this case, university and students, and “This is a high commitment and care from TelkomGroup in enhancing human resources quality in the country, in a co-operation with university, and TelkomGroup realizes that it is human resources quality that will determine enhancement and competitive advantage in this nation in this era“.
Implementation of this CO-Op 2012 program has been in line with competency required and employees’ recruiting plan, and so for selection process in which it has been driven as done to employees’ selecting steps, in which of 74 universities in almost all provinces in Indonesia have taken part in the program with a total of participants reaching 780 students and only 440 students have passed, 32 of whom placed in Telkom, 86 in Telkomsel, 7 in Infomedia, 3 in Telin, 3 in Multimedia Nusantara, 1 in Mitratel, 7 in Health Foundation and 1 other in Telkom Property.
At closing speech, Pandji gave some messages and expectation to all participants of CO-OP that first, university could adjust its curriculum with business need, secondly, students could experience how to work in a reality and able to apply their knowledge to help solve operational and technical problems for TelkomGroup with the spirit of high idealism and creativity usually owned by the students and able to drive work performance and productivity of employees, thirdly, able to support market penetration to Telkom’s products particularly to build Community and Customer Intimacy and enhance Telkomgroup image in supporting the government program through a care to education..
After the speech, 3 students in the CO-Op 2012 representing each Institut Teknologi Telkom (ITT), UNIKOM and Universitas Padjadjaran symbolically received the CO-Op medal from SGM-HCC Pandji Darmawan
