Wartel can be divided into 2 categories:
1. Wartel Type A
Maintained and run by private businesses in cooperation with TELKOM to provide more than 2 telecommunication services.
This type of wartel support local call, long-distance call (SLJJ), international call (SLI), Fax, and Telegram.
2. Wartel Type B
This type of wartel is operated by individual owners in cooperation with TELKOM to provide maximum 2 kinds of telecommunication services.
