PT TELKOM Recorded Rp. 7.99 Trillion in 2005

Jakarta - PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk. (Telkom) recorded an annual profit of Rp. 7.99 trillion in 2005, or up 20.84 % from Rp. 6.61 trillion in 2004.

In its annual report, Telkom announced a 17.7 % increase in business income to Rp. 17.17 trillion from Rp.14.59 trillion in 2004. This increase was drive by higher corporate income from Rp. 33.95 trillion in end of 2004 to Rp. 41.81 trillion by the end of 2005.

During 2005, cellular-related services are still primary contributors to Telkom’s annual income, which reached 40 %, or Rp. 14.57 trillion, going up from Rp. 10.42 trillion in 2004.

Telkom also announced a slight increase in fix phone-related services to Rp. 10.78 trillion from Rp. 10.65 trillion in the previous year.

The third largest income contribution for Telkom comes from inter-connection services that reached Rp. 7.74 trillion, or up Rp. 6.19 trillion. While income from operational cooperation services (Kerja Sama Operasi - KSO) was downed to Rp. 588.65 billion from Rp. 656.61 billion last year.

Other source of income includes data and Internet services that rose 44 %, from Rp. 4.8 trillion to Rp. 6.93 trillion.

Income from network division reached Rp. 586.64 billion, down from Rp. 654.31 billion last year. Meanwhile income from revenue sharing or Pola Bagi Hasil (PBH) reached Rp. 302.28 billion, up from Rp. 280.58 billion last year.

Telkom business annual report for 2005 was delayed because of adjustments in financial accounting standards. Financial report for the first period of 2006 was published on April 2006.

Chief Director PT. Telkom, Arwin Rasyid, said that the delay for the 2005 annual report was due to a regulation revision in Guidance of Financial Account Standard or Pedoman Standard Akutansi Keuangan (PSAK) 38 Revisi, which calls for a restatement of 2002 and 2003 annual report.

Arwin added that there are cross-transaction between PT. Telkom and PT. Indosat that have not been included in the 2002-2003 report. (*)
