'SurePrice' Skyrocketed FLEXI

Jakarta – After losing subscribers for sometime, Flexi subscriber-based growth is looking brighter after launching the SurePrice program.

Although on the first quarter of 2006 (Jan-Apr) PT Telkom recorded a significant churn rate (discontinued numbers), early May subscribers level has begun to stabilize.

"Monthly churn rate can go as high as 175,000 to 200,000 subscribers," said Tri Djatmiko, Vice President Sales, PT Telkom, to reporters in Jakarta on Thursday (8/6/2006). "In May there was an increase in line in service rate as many as 273,000 SST (lines -ed) from 184,000 SST in April. The increase is about 20% - 30%," he added.

Muhammad Awaluddin, Vice President Public and Marketing Communication, PT Telkom, said that his company is looking optimistic to add at least 1 million new subscribers in 2006. By the end of the year, the projected total subscribers will reach 4.5 million subscribers from 3.5 million in 2005.

SurePrice is a promotion program from Telkom that offers special discount for telephone, SMS and data communication services.

Local telephone call received a fixed rate of Rp. 49/mnt for both pre-paid and post-paid service. Long-distance call used a fixed rate of Rp. 900/mnt for post-paid service from 06.00 AM until 23.00 PM and Rp. 449/mnt from 23.00 PM to 06.00.AM. Pre-paid service is charge by Rp. 900/mnt flat for 24 hours.

For data communication the rate is Rp. 5/KB for pre-paid and Rp. 3/KB for post-paid. The program will run from May 1st to July 31. (nks)(nks)
