Through CSR Activity Telkom Grows with Public

Jakarta, December 18, 2011 – In the event of Indonesia CSR Award (ICA) 2011 held together with the closing of National Conference III of Corporate Forum for Community Development (CFCD) and ISO SR 26000 in Jakarta, December 15, 2011, PT. Telekomunikasi Indonesia, Tbk (Telkom) receives recognition for the category of Program and Individual including appreciation as the best CEO for President Director of Telkom, Rinaldi Firmansyah.

Head of Corporate Communication and Affair Telkom, Eddy Kurnia, is grateful for the recognition. This shows that many social activities done by Telkom during the time have got a positive response from the government and the community. “As a modern business institute, and even a  flag carrier operator, it is proper for Telkom to give social care to the environment in the  surrounding. Basically we also want to grow amid the growing community,” said Eddy.

Eddy further said that Telkom’s CSR - corporate social responsibility varies sufficiently covering all over Indonesia.One of the key programs of Telkom is managing Partnership Program and Environment Guidance (PKBL) spread all over the country and other CSRTELKOM programs related to education and learning and also creative industry development through various business programs. Eddy Kurnia added, the fund for Partnership Program  distributed up to Quarter III 2011 at  Rp. 1.423.355.000,-, with a number of  78,221 business partners.

In ICA Award 2011, President Director of Telkom, Rinaldi Firmansyah, is awarded the best CEO.  As a company Telkom also receives Prize of Grand Gold Indonesia CSR Award 2011 presented directly by Minister of State Officials Deployment, Azwar Abu Bakar.

In the category of Program, Telkom receives Platinum Award for many areas, such as Consumers Area due to the Sound and Safe Internet (Insan) program. Through this program Telkom as an internet service provider is not only selling products but also care to security and use of internet access and support the internet use for more productive activity. Social for  program Implementasi I-Chat (I Can Hear and Talk), an application and portal that will help the people particularly teachers of Special Schools (SLB) in the language learning process for special children having hearing problem in Indonesia; Economy Area for Kampung Telkom Sejahtera program: “Deployment of Economy based on Prolonged Food through river fish breeding” at Desa Koto Mesjid, District Kampar, Riau; Economy for Kampung Telkom Sejahtera program: “Deployment of Sari Apel Brosem, Malang, East Java”.

Platinum Award also received by Telkom for the program of Harmonious Management and Employees’ Union. Telkom has accomodated the employees’ rights through company policy formulated with SEKAR; Formulation of Joint Work Agreement (PKB) between management and SEKAR is made throurgh discussion and long argument, however both parties emphasize on company sustainability. In Environment Area for Progam Telkom Go Green Telkom, such as Paperless Office Internal Telkom (POINT) achieves Gold Prize. With POINT, there will be use of paperless significantly, due to incoming letters process, outgoing letters making, incoming and outgoing letters numbering and recording, letters filing, disposition,  delegation and others which now made paperless and online.

In the individual category, Telkom is successful in achieving the Best I for the category of BOD to Faisal Syam, Director of Human Capital and General Affairs; the Best I for the category of Corporate Communication Officer to Eddy Kurnia – Head of Corporate Commnication Affairs; the Best I for the category VP/Senior VP/GM to Gatot Rustamdji – SGM CDC. Adun – Officer 1 PKBL CD Sub Area Riau achieves the Best II for the category of escorting Business Partner of river fish breeding at Sub-District of Kampar, Riau, and Suhaemi, owner of river fish breeding  achieves the Best I for the category of Economic Player as Telkom’s Partner.

Indonesia CSR Award 2011is the best appreciation for the company having run the CSR focussed on company’s commitment and effort operating legally, at least the company’s risk contributes to social, economic and environmental development sustainably to improve quality of the stakeholders.  ICA 2011 is grouped in a key approach named social responsibility (SR) based on the adapted ISO 26000.

ICA 2011 is performed by CFCD and RI Social Ministry with the support of Coordinating Ministry of Economy, Coordinating Ministry of People’s Welfare, Ministry of Cooperative Group and Small & Medium Entrepreneur, Ministry of Forestry, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Environment, Ministry of National Education, Ministry of People’s Housing, Ministry of Remote Area Development, Ministry of Trade, Ministry of Manpower, Minstry of ESDM (Mineral Resources), Ministry of Industry, Ministry of Law and Human Rights, and Ministry of BUMN (State-Owned-Body).

Criteria is based on at least three minimum criteria for passing grade for participants, those are, manpower, company management, and company operations.
