Telkom's Aid to Islamic schools at Tasikmalaya
Tasikmalaya, June 9, 2012On the launching of Madrasah Entrepreneurship and Bangkit Pusat Zakat Ummat, BUMN State Minister and PT. Telekomunikasi Indonesia, Tbk (Telkom) have participated in succeeding the event held at District Tasikmalaya, West Java, on Friday and Saturday (June 8-9, 2012).
Director of Human Capital & General Affair (HCGA) Telkom, Priyantono Rudito, said that Telkom’s participation in this event is not only because Telkom as BUMN, but also in line with a theme of corporate social responsibility (CSR) program, that is, To Build Indonesia Smart.

Some of the activities performed with some of the BUMN are to deploy people and Islamic school in Tasikmalaya. To succeed this event, through BUMN Ministry, Telkom gave an aid in the form of 1,000 seedlings of mango tree and oak tree to go green Tasikmalaya at a value of Rp 26 million, for launching the program at a value of Rp 200 millions (including packages for schooling at a value of Rp 140 millions) and making of broadband learning centre (BLC) at Islamic school Persis Benda at a value of Rp 65 millions.

During 2011, Telkom have supported 9,189 patronage partners with the fund distributed at Rp 302.7 billions, while the fund given for environment building at Rp 45 billions.

Priyantono added, Telkom always supported any activities aiming at making smart. He said the social and environmental responsibility program performed along 2011 has absorbed the fund at Rp 32 billions covering information communication technology (ICT) program ‘To You Teachers, I Dedicate’, Santri Indigo program, Indigopreneur (training for Small & Medium Enterprise), BLC at border area, application ‘I can hear and talk (i-CHAT)’ for those of special needs and other education programs.
