Bandung, May 16^th, 2007 - PT. Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk. (Telkom) continued its program to support national education by launching Speedy Community SchoolNet, a low budget high speed internet access for education community. By providing a low-budget internet access Telkom expected to be able to reduce digital divide in education world.

“Speedy Community SchoolNet is not only used for accessing the Internet, but also to access the Jardiknas (National Education Network) network,” said Eddy Kurnia, Telkom Vice President Public and Marketing Communication. Speedy Community SchoolNet is a proof of Telkom apprehension to national education.

Telkom offers two product packages: Speedy Community SchoolNet Limited and Speedy Community SchoolNet Unlimited. The difference between them, are on size of data which can be downloaded and monthly charge.

Speedy Community SchoolNet is suitable for use in school community due to its tariff scheme which is much lower than other regular Speedy. Beside that, Telkom offer 100% registration fee discount for one year subscription.

“Since Speedy Community SchoolNet is part of Jardiknas Program, this product is specially designed for schools in Jardiknas Program,” said Eddy. For schools which already used regular Speedy, Telkom suggested to migrate to Speedy Community SchoolNet.

Through Speedy Community SchoolNet, Telkom expect to push Speedy penetration. In first quarter of year 2007, Speedy has been used by 115.979 subscribers. In 2007 Telkom projected Speedy will grow up to 353% or 385.000 subscribers.
