TELKOM and IBM Indonesia Cooperate in Information Technology Service
Jakarta, August 28, 2012 – PT. Telekomunikasi Indonesia, Tbk (Telkom) and IBM Indonesia agree to cooperate in developing Information Technology (TI) in Indonesia, particularly in giving the best IT solutions for corporation and Small Micro & Medium Entrepreneurship (UMKM) in Jakarta, on Tuesday (28/8).

Agreement of both companies leading the IT industry is made in a meeting attended directly by  President and CEO IBM Corporation, Virginia “Ginni” M. Rometty, awarded by  Fortune magazine as "50 Most Powerful Women in Business" for seven years consecutively and even the 7th rank in 2011. Ginni becomes the 15th rank of “World's 100 Most Powerful Women 2012" of Forbes magazine and included in Time 100  in 2012. On the occasion, Ginni was accompanied by ASEAN General Manager IBM, Cordelia Chung, President Director IBM Indonesia, Suryo Suwignyo, and Country Manager IBM Indonesia, Kustiawan Kusumo. While Telkom represented by President Director of Telkom, Arief Yahya, accompanied by Director of Network and Solution, Rizkan Chandra, Director of IT Solution and Strategic Portfolio, Indra Utoyo, and Director of Human Capital & General Affair, Priyantono Rudito.

President Director of Telkom, Arief Yahya, stated that the cooperation between Telkom and  IBM, a key player of IT Global service, could give an advantage not only to both companies but also the IT consumers in Indonesia. “Telkom and IBM have the same perception to always commit to give the best service to the subscribers from such a small entrepreneur to large corporation,” said Arief Yahya.

The agreement is expected to be able to improve value of both companies particularly in making an expansion of data center in Indonesia. Both companies also agree to develop Broadband Partnership covering IT operation management (ITOM) for Service Provider Development Environment (SPDE), and development of Corporate University now Telkom preparing. 
In relation with Telkom Corporate University, Arief Yahya explained Telkom was expected to be able to make a benchmark with IBM much producing Global Talent and Great Leaders aswell. “Cooperation with IBM enables Telkom to make a Global Talent Internship and  Certification for IBM system,” said Arief Yahya.
Telkom Corporate University (Telkom CorpU) is an internal program of  TelkomGroup to improve human resources quality, not only making an employee smart but also all employees of  Telkom and its institution in facing more complicated business competition. Telkom Corporate University is sure to be much more effective in supporting Telkom’s business objective achievement.

As admitted by Arief Yahya, development of digital-based information technology infrastructure has been much faster and expanded to various sectors, in line with much need of facility to exchange information and to make transaction.  This condition has triggered Tekom to make use current technological innovation IBM has owned to improve Telkom’s IT service which will further give a positive value to the people.
