Jakarta, December 22, 2011 – PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk (Telkom) is awarded The Best Overall Sustainability Report 2010 and The Best Sustainability Report 2010 of the category of Services presented by National Center for Sustainability Reporting (NCSR) in the Indonesia Sustainability Reporting Awards (ISRA).
The ISRA award for the 7th event was directly presented by Chairman of NCSR Jury, Sarwono Kusumaatmadja, to President Director of Telkom, Rinaldi Firmansyah, on Wednesday (21/12) at Hotel Mulia Jakarta. Rinaldi, in his speech, is grateful to NCSR for the appreciation given to Telkom.
“This appreciation may be realized because of the support from all Telkom’s employees. This is not an end, but a beginning of our efforts to improve and sustain ourselves for the future,” said Rinaldi Firmansyah.
ISRA is an annual appreciation organized by National Center for Sustainability Reporting (NCSR) which has been done from August 2011. This appreciation is presented to companies that have reported and published the activity related to the aspects of environment and social and also economy to maintain sustainability of the companies themselves. This publication includes Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program directed to the stakeholders and at the same time to socialize the Chapter 66 Item 2 of Laws No. 49 Year 2007 about the Limited Liable Company.
Rinaldi Firmansyah explained, Telkom as a public company has done its obligation to make sustainability report following the Law. “What Telkom has done and be appreciated by another party is very grateful, “ added Rinaldi Firmansyah.
The ISRA award is also presented to the company who has published sustainability report, either issued separately or included in the annual report, following the regulations issued by the government, in this case Bapepam, regulating the public company to uncover implementation of CSR activity in its annual report.
This appreciation is intended to support reporting on social and environment responsibility, also to improve company accountability by emphasizing responsibility to the key stakeholders and improve company care to transparency and accountability.
This annual award is organized by NCSR in cooperation with Indonesian-Netherlands Association (INA), Indonesia’s Accountant-Management Association (IAMI) and Indonesia’s Emittent Association (AEI) and supported by State Minister for Environment. Decision for winners is based on sustainability guidance of Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) with the jury representing members of the stakeholders, like IAMI, Indonesia’s Stock Exchange, universities, Governance Policy National Committee (KNKG), Press and Non-Govermental Organizations. All assessors are graduates of Certified Sustainability Reporting Specialist (CSRS). “The appreciation received by Telkom will motivate us to do the best, particularly in preparing sustainability report as the public company responsibility to the stakeholder,“ explained Rinaldi Firmansyah.
