Jakarta, February 15, 2010 - PT. Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk (Telkom) again achieved Top Brand Award 2010 for the category of Internet Service Fixed by Speedy and Telkomnet Instant. Fixed Wireless Access Flexi Trendy and Flexy Classy services also selected as Top Brand for the category of Prepaid SIM Card CDMA and Postpaid SIM Card CDMA. Consumer Director of Telkom, I Nyoman G Wiryanata, accepted the award presented by General Head of ‘Majalah Marketing’, Rahmat Susanta, and Chairman Frontier Consulting Group, Handi Irawan, at Hotel Mulia Jakarta, Monday (08/02).
On the same occasion, the subsidiary of Telkom, Telkomsel, also achieved the same award for the category of Postpaid SIM Card GSM (‘Kartu Halo’), and Internet Service Provider Mobile (Telkomsel Flash). Top Brand Award is an award to the brands of the top ones. Criteria is based on survey made by Frontier Consulting Group. Top Brand Award is presented to over 100 categories.
Consumer Director of Telkom, I Nyoman G Wiryanata, Flexi, Speedy and TelkomNet Instant are superior products of Telkom, therefore, he very much expected the three products also had appreciation from the consumers as seen in the result of Top Brand Survey 2010. “Recognition as Top Brand will surely motivate us to more improve the products so as to give maximum satisfaction to the consumers,” he said.
As explained by Nyoman, up to end of 2009 number of Speedy subscribers has reached 1.2 millions, while those of Flexi over 15 millions. The success of Speedy to be the Top Brand, according to Nyoman, cannot be separated from Telkom’s awareness to fulfill the community need about speedy internet. At present, Telkom has relied on Speedy Multispeed Package to gain new subscribers. “We have target to increase 500 to 600 thousands of subscribers in this 2010,” confirmed Nyoman.
According to Chairman Frontier Consulting Group, Handi Irawan, one of the successful keys of managing the brand is the measurement to the brand. Through Top Brand Survey, which is the survey for brand during the successive 8 years, the brand can be evaluated, particularly in its performance consistency.
Top Brand Survey 2010 is made in 6 cities, those are: Bandung, Jakarta, Makassar, Medan, Semarang and Surabaya. Total samples at random at 2,400 respondents, sample booster added to increase total incident rate of premium products at 1,200 respondents, so that the total respondents surveyed reaching 3,600 respondents.
Meanwhile, according to General Head of ‘Majalah Marketing’, Rahmat Susanta, Top Brand Award is presented to the brand within the category of particular products fulfilling two criteria. The criteria for the brands gaining Top Brand index minimum 10%, and the brands which according to the survey result are within the top three position in their product category.
