Number of Speedy Subscribers increase 69.7%

Jakarta, March  3, 2010 – As of January 2010, number of Speedy internet service subscribers recorded to reach almost 1.2 millions of SSL (Service Line Unit), or increase 69,7% compared to January year 2009 at 683 millions of SSL. While thr revenue, in January 2010 also estimated to exceed the target.

That was stated by Vice President Public and Marketing Communication PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia, Tbk (Telkom, Eddy Kurnia, in Jakarta (3/3). Telkom’s effort to increase the service value of Speedy broadband through a series of promo programs, said Eddy Kurnia, proved to have a posiitive impact to the market. The promo is among others, SpeedyTrek, Speedy Games Competition, subscription packages, bundling, etc.

“ We see their high trust to Speedy products as a challenge to continuously improve our values,” said  Eddy Kurnia. “Based on the performance trends year 2008 and 2009, we are optimistic that target 1,7 millions of SSL in year 2010 defined by Telkom will be achieved,” he continued.

From the revenue, ARPU (Average Revenue per User) of the use of Speedy in January 2010 achieved Rp 232 thousands per month. This figure is good, however, we will continuously try to increase the amount through various programs that will stimulate the use of Speedy access, such program as improvement and expansion of infrastructure and contents as well.

Telkom entering the Consortium of South East Asia Japan Cable (SJC) Submarine Cable System Construction  through its subsidiary engaged in international business,  PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia Internasional (TII), currently is one of the examples of Telkom’s efforts in infrastructure construction that will have an impact on the improvement in access perfromance including access through Speedy service. This step follows Telkom’s entering the Consortium Asia-America Gateway (AAG) in year 2008 making internet access to to global network more easily and quickly.

We are sure that the community need about high speed internet access will continuously develop in line with the growth of many contents currently, also much use of social networking site.
