Jakarta, July 30, 2012 – Financial and operational performance of PT. Telekomunikasi Indonesia, Tbk (Telkom) along Semester I-2012 has shown the company capability to continuously grow despite tighter competitive condition among operators in telecommunication industry in the country. At Semester I-2012, growth revenue at 6,8% or Rp 36.7 trillions. The increase has been contributed by revenue growth of cellular member group at 9.5% or Rp 25.4 trillions.
Operating growth is shown by significantly increasing number of subscribers and users of bandwidth services (fixed as well as mobile), such as Speedy, Flash and BlackBerry. Growth of Speedy subscribers at quarter II-2012 compared with the quarter I-2012 at 3.9% in which the total subscribers of Speedy become 2 millions. While Flash subscribers grow much faster to be 5.8 millions or at 10.8%. BlackBerry subscribers as predicted grow 21.1%. Total subscribers of BlackBerry now reach 4.1 millions. Looking at the increasing data service, revenue to be gained from this bandwidth service will also increase.
For fixed telephone (wire line & wireless) an also cellular services, Telkom still place a market leader with number of subscribers each reaching 25 millions (growth at 5.0%) and 117.2 millions (growth at 6.7%) so the total subscribers of Telkom telephone are 142.2 millions. Of the total fixed telephone subscribers at 25 millions, 16.2 of which are Flexi subscribers. At this quarter II-2012, Flexi subscribers grow significantly at 7.4% compared with the quarter I-2012.
This improving operating performance thus affects a positive financial performance by revenue gain at Rp 36.7 trillions or grows at 6.8% compared with the achievement of Semester I-2011 at Rp 34.3 trillions. Of EBITDA aspect, the achievement at Semester I – 2012 at Rp 19.2 trillions or growth at 6.7% compared with the Semester I-2011.
