ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING OF SHAREHOLDERS TELKOM: Rp 6.053 TRILLION FOR DIVIDEND

 

Jakarta, June 29, 2007 - P.T. Telekomunikasi Indonesia, Tbk. (Telkom), to pay out 55% of its 2006 profit as a dividend. The divident payment was aprroved by the shareholder at the company annual general meeting on June 29, 2007.
“The board had earlier proposed a dividend of 50% of the profit but the government which owned 51,2% opposed the proposal,” said CEO Telkom, Rinaldi Firmansyah. “The government did not want Telkom to retain too much of its profit, and wanted to see a 55% of dividend paid to the shareholder instead,” Rinaldi adding.
Telkom, which recorded Rp 11 trillion (US$ 1,21 billion) in net profit last year, will pay out a total divident Rp 6,953 trillion or Rp 303,2 per share. It’s means total corporate income consolidation in 2006 rise up about 23% or Rp 51, 3 trilion.
The rise of business income in 2006, is specially came from seluler, data & internet and interconnection business.
Event more than half of net income pay out for dividend, Rinaldi Firmansyah assure that its decision would not affect to Telkom performance this year, because internal cash account Telkom still approriate to implement Telkom’s business plan.
The meeting also agreed to allocate about Rp 35 million for corporate social responsibility program.
